The Yaesu FT-7100M dual band mobile brings you the ruggedness and
operating ease of our single band mobiles and the convenience of remote
head mounting capability in an all new design. Extended receive coverage
provides monitoring of both public safety and the VHF air band [AM]. The
power output is 50 watts on 2 meters (50/20/10/5 W) and 35 watts on 440
MHz (35/20/10/5 W). Despite its compact size, the FT-7100M has a large
2.3 x 0.9 inch dual frequency display. Simultaneous dual receive on two
different frequencies, in band or cross-band is supported. (Cross-band
repeater function is not available). Separate volume and squelch are
provided for each band. A handy mute feature prevents "competition"
between the two receivers by automatically muting the sub-receivers
audio when a signal is received on the main receiver.
The main memory of the FT-7100 includes 240 channels (120 channels
per band). Plus you get 5 pairs of programmable band limits and a
one-touch Home channel on each band. Each memory stores
frequency data plus CTCSS or DCS frequency and operating status, and
repeater shift is also memorized. A six-character alphanumeric label may
be appended to each memory (upper display field: 5 characters).
Sophisticated scanning is also supported. You get: VFO scan, Memory
scan, Programmable Memory scan (PMS) with user-defined limits, and you
designate can channels to be skipped during memory scan. You also get
Yaesu's unique Smart Search™ automatic memory loading system, which
sweeps a portion of the band, automatically loading active frequencies
into a special 50-channel Smart Search™ memory bank. You also get 3
priority channel modes.
The FT-7100M features Yaesu's ARTS™ Auto-Range Transponder System,
important in search-and-rescue applications. ARTS provides a
"hand-shake" with other ARTS equipped transceivers and displays out of
range or in range. A 6 character CW ID is also provided for your station
every ten minutes during ARTS operation. The FT-7100M is ready for
1200/9600 packet operation with the addition of the optional CT-39A
packet cable.
